Sneak A Peek: Earth Fare at Emory Point {and a GIVEAWAY!}

We all know I’m a Whole Foods girl, but there was a stretch of time when I didn’t have Whole Foods. When I lived in Tallahassee, there was no fancy gourmet health food supermarket- until Earth Fare opened. I was instantly impressed by how the store balanced gourmet products and affordability. No it’s not cheap the way Sprouts and Trader Joe’s are, but it is pretty affordable and very nice. I loved the sushi, the candy selection, the coffee-by-the cup…siiigh.

I hadn’t been to an Earth Fare since I left Tallahassee four years ago, so when I was given the opportunity to tour the location opening up by Emory, I pounced! I didn’t get to experience everything the store has to offer, because it’s not open yet, but I did get a taste for what’s to come! Literally- they gave us a lot of samples.

That maple cream cookie…. When they officially open that’s probably what I’m buying first.

The really cool thing about this particular location of Earth Fare is that it’s a more “urbanized” version of their stores. So it’s more condensed. Not so much meant for heavy grocery shopping, but more meant for light, grab-and-go, shopping. Which makes sense, because they put it right next to Emory University (lucky students). Along with this condensed layout there’s modernized signage, making it bright and open- very inviting!

My favorite section was the bulk section. Partly because we were given sampling privileges, but partly because I am an absolute sucker for bulk snacks. Check out the dark chocolate covered banana chips oh my goodness. Adding those to my list of things to buy when they open.

I’m also a fan of all the local offerings! There’s a whole section on this blog called “Local Love” so that probably isn’t much of a surprise, but all of the local products were nicely marked with a red label that jumps out at you- you can’t miss it.

Some of their local vendors include Spring Mountain Farms Chicken, Terrapin Beer Company, Lettuce Buy Local salad mixes and Georgia Grinders.

So, when does it open?

This Wednesday, July 8! Bright and early, at 7:00 a.m. For their opening day shennigans they’re giving the first 100 people in line a mystery gift card- you could win anything from $5- 500.

  1. Umm..easy choice here! I would buy their locally sourced peaches and berries and make your berry crumble ( ASAP! And it goes without mention, definitely would use the Georgia Grinders PB (my all-time fave). Can’t wait to check it out!
