Foodlanthropy: The Farmer Fund Launch Party

foodlanthropy

Summer is bursting with foodlanthropic events! This next one sounds amazing: The Farmer Fund Launch Party. The Farmer Fund is a new nonprofit created to support farmers in times of crisis after a natural disaster. To help raise funds, 24 chefs (male and female) from the Atlanta area were photographed for a calendar. The kicker? They’re wearing nothing but a Hedley and Bennett apron. We’re talking chefs like Ford Fry of all 100 7 Rocket Farm brand restaurants, Todd Ginsburg of the General Muir, Jenny Levison of Souper Jenny and Zeb Stevenson of Watershed.

The launch party celebrates the release of the calendar- not even the chefs have seen the pictures or calendar yet! It also brings together twelve restaurants and twelve breweries for a night of great food and beer. Restaurants include The Cockentrice, Local Three, Better Half and Leon’s Full Service. Participating breweries include Terrapin, Three Taverns, Second Self and newcomer, Eventide.

There’s even going to be an apron fashion show. I’m not sure why I wasn’t invited to be a model- maybe next time? 😉 But, it would still be cool to see the hippest, hottest aprons in the industry.
